Shine SC’s Commitment to Child Safety

At Shine Social and Communities, we are committed to safeguarding the rights of children and young people by providing a holistic, safe, nurturing and engaging environment in which we conduct our services. This commitment is supported by our organisational values of Openness, Responsibility, Collaboration, Respect and Courage which drive our ability to empower the children and young people that we work with to reach their fullest potential.

As an organisation, our systems and values are designed to empower and protect all children and young people in our service as well as position the best interests of the children and young people we work with as paramount to a successful service delivery. We are open, honest, and committed towards building a culture that is driven by teamwork and collaboration with children, young people and their stakeholders and families. We are accountable and committed to delivering and achieving possible outcomes with the children and young people we work with, taking pride in our work. We value individual wishes, choice, diversity, and empathy that will unite us in collaboration as one team.

All children and young people are encouraged to voice their opinions and to let us know if something is not right or doesn’t feel right for them and we are committed to acting on concerns raised and reporting as necessary. Any form of abuse is not tolerated by Shine Social and Communities and child safety concerns are treated with the upmost importance and sensitivity. We will be transparent with the community about how we operate as a child safe organisation.

We make every effort to employ the right staff with the appropriate skills, knowledge, and background, who are committed to the values of child safety and wellbeing, and we support them with on-going training and education.
